Leadership roles
- I currently am serving as Acting Leader of the Belief Formation Program of the ARC Centre of Excellence of Cognition and its Disorders (CCD), Macquarie (from August 2013 until at least September 2014 while the Leader, Robyn Langdon, is on sick leave). In this role I have: helped supervise and mentor Robyn’s team of approximately 15 postdoctoral fellows, PhD, Masters and Honours students; prepared Program Activity Plans and Budgets for 2014-2016; gathered information and prepared summaries for the CCD Annual Report; represented the Belief Formation Program at the 2013 CCD Annual Conference; attended CCD Research Management Committees; reviewed applications for CCD grant schemes; and helped to prepare for the ARC Review of the CCD in 2014.
- In 2012 I was selected for a Women in Research Leadership Course, a 5-day residential Executive MBA course within the University of Queensland Business School. I attended the course in Brisbane in June 2012 with 4 other Macquarie women. After returning, in October 2012 we held a “Women in Research Leadership Roundtable” for 60 Macquarie staff to share specific insights, strategies and skills we learned.
- In 2011 the Executive Dean of the Faculty of Human Sciences, Professor Janet Greeley, nominated me to receive Individual Leadership Coaching throughout 2012, involving one-on-one sessions with a leadership coach.
Departmental representative
- In July 2013 I was part of a delegation that hosted the President and Vice-Chancellor, and Associate Vice-President (International) from University of Waterloo, Canada, 2013.
- In 2010 I contributed to Macquarie Centre for Cognitive Science (MACCS) response to the ARC Consultation Paper.
- In 2010 I was the MACCS representative to Faculty of Human Sciences’ Risk Management Workshop.
- In 2004 I acted as Postgraduate Research Coordinator, Psychology, UNSW.
- In 2001 I was Colloquium Organiser, Psychology, UNSW.
Departmental host - I currently am hosting Fulbright Senior Scholar, Associate Professor Michelle Meade, Montana State University, 2013-2014.
- In 2010 I hosted Fulbright Senior Scholar, Dr Adam Brown, New York University.

- Grant reviewing, mentoring and thesis examination:
- In 2013 I assessed grant applications for two ARC CCD funding schemes.
- Every year since arriving at Macquarie in 2007 I have mentored early career researchers in my Department through the ARC grant writing process as well as commented on colleagues’ drafts of their grants and rejoinders (e.g., in 2014 I commented on 5 Discovery Project, 2 DECRA, and 1 Future Fellow applications).
I also have commented on colleagues’ applications for other external schemes (e.g., NHMRC, Marsden Fund of New Zealand), applications for promotion, and job applications. - Every year since 2008 I have examined Psychology Honours Theses at Macquarie.
